According to the NYC Health Department, 57% of adults and 39% of children in NYC are overweight or obese. This is epidemic, like in many other parts of the country, and is driven by limited access to healthy foods and an environment that doesn't promote physical activity.
The NYC Health Department is hard at work on many fronts to try to reverse the epidemic of obesity and create an environment in NYC that makes it easier to eat healthy and be physically active.
